Alan D. Davis is a native of New Jersey, and graduated from Rutgers -The State University in 1968 with a BA in History. He served in the U.S. Navy from August, 1968, until May, 1974, as a data systems technician, with expertise in computer and peripheral system repair. His last three years were spent on the USS Josephus Daniels, based in Norfolk, Virginia.

Following his military service, Mr. Davis enrolled in Western State University School of Law in Fullerton, California, graduating in 1978. Upon admission to the bar in November of that year, he began a general practice of law. For the past sixteen years, he has focused on probate, wills, trusts, guardianships, conservatorships, and real estate law.

Mr. Davis has taught probate law and procedure at Santa Ana College since 1981. The course, which is open to the public, is usually offered in the spring semester. The book used by the course was written by Mr. Davis with students in mind.
